• Provide executive support to three Directors
  • New organisation, new role, so make your mark!
  • Be part of positively improving the mental health & wellbeing of Aotearoa
  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi grounded organisation

Do you thrive in an environment where you can be part of shaping something new? Are you looking for a start-up role that will have a positive impact on the lives of all people in Aotearoa New Zealand?

The Mental Health and Wellbeing Commission opened its doors on 9 February 2021 to bring leadership and oversight to the transformation of our mental health and addiction system, and to contribute to better and equitable mental health and wellbeing outcomes for all people in Aotearoa.

As the PA to our Directors, you will be responsible for providing day to day support to our Leadership Team that will support the effective and efficient operation of the Commission.

This is a new position and you will have scope to work with each Director setting up successful ways of working with them.  As a new organisation that is growing and developing while we deliver, key to your success will be your flexibility and initiative in identifying pragmatic solutions to day to day pieces of work.

You will have previous experience providing support to mid-level or senior management, be highly organised and able to manage competing demands and changing priorities. Ideally you will be familiar with machinery of government and government processes and have knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi – or a desire to learn.

If you thrive on having responsibility, ownership and accountability within your role and actions, then this is the role for you.

As a Te Tiriti o Waitangi-grounded organisation, we are committed to fulfilling our responsibility as an Independent Crown Entity to honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and work in partnership with Māori as tangata whenua.

We want our workforce to be a reflection of our communities across Aotearoa and are actively seeking applications from people who represent that diversity.

To apply, please download the position description and application form.  Please send your completed application form to hr@mhwc.govt.nz.

Applications close 5pm, Thursday 13 May 2021.
