Toiora Wellbeing
Our vision for wellbeing for all people in Aotearoa is: tū tangata mauri ora, thriving together.
People from across Aotearoa told us what ideal wellbeing and oranga looks like. Taken as a whole, we know that people need to have their rights, dignity and tino rangatiratanga fully realised. They need to feel safe, valued and connected to their communities and their cultures, and they need resources, skills, resilience, hope and purpose for the future.
Our He Ara Oranga wellbeing outcomes framework describes wellbeing from both a te ao Māori perspective and a shared perspective. We use these worldviews to understand, assess and report on people's mental health and wellbeing, as well as focus our efforts on advocating for what works to improve equitable wellbeing outcomes for people.
